Happy new year! I didn't make a new year post (who am I kidding, I'm no blogger), but it's actually the Chinese New Year today, so this is gonna be a Chinese new year post instead. :)

We're 23 days into 2012, and I've been a pretty productive human bean, if I may say so myself. I'm feeling a lot better since my super *~emo~* post in December. I was going through training for my first job, and felt really inadequate for it. Training has long been over, and I'm still no pro at it, but I'm learning my way through. I also realized that even if I don't do well at this, it's not the end! I need to stop thinking in a box, really.

One of the "big" things happening this year: I'm going to be moving out for around 3 months, and living alone in a dorm. I'm not going to be completely responsible for a whole house, but it's still a big leap for me. Review classes for the next board exam start in 2 weeks and I need to use all my free time for studying. I know I'm gonna be pushed way out of my comfort zone, but I feel ready enough. Let's just hope I'm right. ;)

For someone who would like to live a pretty laid back life, I seem to make choices that lead me to the opposite kind of life. Haha. I've been thinking about how I'm always so stressed lately. And by 'lately' I mean the past year, or so. I'm becoming overly-nostalgic about the past, and who I used to be. I need some sunshine.

I spent six months of the past year studying for the licensure exam. I didn't get to pass it, but I definitely think that they were a great six months-worth of a helluva experience. :) Can't wait to move on to other things in life. And I'm also glad things are back to normal. For now, here I am just catching up on everything I missed out on. Good food, good TV, good movies, good sleep - it's good to see you in my life again! :)

Holy Week

It's been a while since we went back to the Celestial Gardens for Stations of the Cross. Last year, we went to a different place. It seems the experience was easier for me this year, than when I was a kid. I must be getting older. :)

Sinulog

Today is the feast of Sr. Sto. Niño in Cebu. It's the biggest event in our little island, and it's known all over the world. Flocks and flocks of foreigners come and try to sink Cebu every year. Just kidding. The whole celebration lasts for a week, but there's a mardi gras on the feast day itself, so most people spend the day out in the streets. But I'm staying home this year. Although I did attend the solemn procession yesterday. It didn't turn out quite as solemn as people expected. It started raining really, really hard. But it was all good, I don't think anyone complained at all! Around an estimated 1million people were game enough for the Sto. Niño.

I really miss joining the Sinulog photo contest, though. But then again, there's always next year! I'm just too tired and exhausted from school to have enough energy for all that. Lame excuse, but I just like to do things at my own pace. These are some of my shots from last year!

Sunday Downtown

On Mother's Day Sunday, my mom and my three titas trooped to Downtown Cebu City just to look around and hang out. Sundays usually mean closed shops and fewer people. I love the nostalgic vibe -- I feel like being back in the 70's and 80's.
